SHOE WITH EXPIRATION DATE 

 

In my Bachelor Thesis I developed a "Shoe with expiration date". 

The main question "Why do we manufacture products for eternity, which are only used for a short time / one season?" 

The common shoe is made from materials which are never degradable. Their components are alternating, so they cannot be recycled. 

 

My idea is a modular sneaker-set based on the building block principle. Made from regional and compostable materials. The essential elements can be exchanged and freely combined.

 

This modular shoe proves: it is possible to be based entirely on plastic and regional resources. Materials like dandelions-rubber and hemp being used. This modular shoe is a symbol of the culture of sustainability and at the same time an appropriate response to "fast fashion".

 

The project is still in its early stages, 

but will leave a huge footprint...
